Questions parents ask
Straight answers to what parents ask most. Something missing? Write to support@taskic.app.
What does it cost?
The free version has everything a family needs day to day: tasks of every kind, points, rewards, the weekly boss, the family goal, streaks and levels, the weekly summary and the iPhone widget, for up to 6 members, with no ads.
Taskić Pro adds the other games (duels, the task market, the surprise box, seasonal events, before and after, the secret agent, turbo hour and quick clean), the points bank with interest, the streak shield, new stickers, the monthly recap (the first one is free), up to 15 members, and Pro in a second family of the same parent, for example in a second home. One subscription covers the whole family on every member’s phone, iPhone or Android, whichever store it was bought in. Only a parent can buy it: in the App Store on an iPhone, or in Google Play on an Android phone.
Taskić Pro costs $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year in the US. In other countries the App Store and Google Play set an equivalent price in the local currency, and the store always shows the exact price before you buy.
Every new family gets Taskić Pro free for its first two to three weeks, until the first weekly summary that arrives at least 14 days after the family was created. There’s no card, and nothing is charged automatically. Families who tested Taskić before launch get a year of Pro as founding families. Nothing is ever sold to children, and points and surprise boxes can’t be bought with money.
Why a subscription and not ads?
Ads don’t belong in an app children use every day, and they would break our promise about your family’s data. So Taskić has no ads, in any version, ever. The free version stays complete, and the families who want more games pay for Taskić Pro, which keeps Taskić going.
What do you store about my child?
A nickname, an avatar and the points multiplier, plus the date a parent gave consent and which parent it was. A profile photo only if a parent sets one. Then what happens in the family: the child’s tasks, points and reward requests.
No email, surname, birth date, location or contacts. Proof photos are deleted seven days after the task is approved. The details are in the privacy policy.
Can two parents manage the family?
Yes. A family can have several parents, each with their own account and phone. Invite the other parent with a code and choose the parent role.
We have two kids and one phone. Does that work?
Yes. In child mode, a parent’s phone shows one child’s tasks and points, and leaving it takes the parent’s PIN, so the kids can take turns. A parent can also tick off a task for a child, or approve it after seeing it done.
What if my child loses their phone?
The account isn’t tied to the phone. Show a new QR code from your phone (Settings, tap the child, then Sign in on a device) and scan it with the new one: the child is back with all their points. If the lost phone worries you, a parent can remove the child’s access from the family in Settings.
Does it work offline?
Ticking off a task works without internet and syncs when the phone is back online. Approving, rewards and most other actions need a connection.
What happens when a task is missed?
At midnight, a task that wasn’t done by its deadline is marked missed and earns nothing. If the parent turned on “Take points if missed” for that task, it also takes away as many points as it’s worth. A task that was ticked off in time is never missed, even if it’s approved later.
Can I undo a mistake?
Yes. A parent can reverse an entry in the points history, and the points go back. Nothing is deleted: the correction is a new entry, so everyone can see what happened.
How do I delete everything?
A parent deletes the whole family in Settings, under Delete family, after typing the family’s name. Every task, point, photo and the children’s accounts go with it. To delete just one child’s profile and data, tap the child in Settings, then Delete profile and data. For your own account and the rest, see Delete your account and data.
We live apart. How do two homes work?
The simplest is one family with both of you as parents, so the kids keep one set of points wherever they are. Adults can also belong to several families and switch between them. A child’s profile belongs to one family. One Taskić Pro subscription covers up to two families in which you’re a parent.
Can grandparents or a nanny join?
Yes, as adult members. They do tasks, earn points and suggest rewards, but they don’t approve others’ tasks or change the family’s settings.
Can my child talk to strangers in the app?
No. There’s no chat, no public profile and no contact between families. Everything stays inside your family.
Are points real money?
No. Points have no money value. If you pay pocket money for points, Taskić only records what you agreed, and you pay it out yourself.
Which phones does it work on?
iPhone with iOS 16.4 or newer, from the App Store, and Android phones with Android 8.0 or newer, from Google Play. The app and the account are the same on both, so a family can mix iPhones and Android phones.
Sign in with Apple works on both: on an Android phone, Apple’s sign-in page opens in the browser. The widget and the Live Activity are on iPhone only.
